Meet Dr. Vander Wielen

Scott Vander Wielen graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University with his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2009. While attending chiropractic college, he was introduced to the Gonstead system of adjusting, and functional medicine and recognized each as powerful approach to problem solving. The Gonstead technique focuses on finding the segment which needs the adjustment through a scientific/analytical approach. Functional medicine involves understanding the "why" behind a person having particular health ailments and addressing the root cause, not simply treating the symptoms. While completing his chiropractic degree, he undertook a great deal of interest and independent study to become proficient at the Gonstead technique of adjusting, and functional medicine. He has had the opportunity to be mentored by exceptional doctors in the field in a short time. Consequently, he has acquired a unique ability to understand and treat patients with conditions normally only undertaken by specialists such as:

autoimmune disorders, kidney disease, fibromyalgia, diabetes, cancer, hormonal imbalances, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and obesity to name a few. A candidate for a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists through the American Chiropractic Association, and the Council for the Diagnosis of Internal Disorders,  Dr. Vander Wielen is committed to continuous professional growth and development.
